 Postcard Writing Party

November 11th, 2018

Before the start of the 86th Legislative Session, Circle Up enrolled First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women from congregations all over Central Texas to come together to write postcards to our State Legislators about maternal mortality and morbidity as well as the importance of the key initiatives Circle Up has taken on to improve maternal health in Texas. Guest speaker, Wendy Davis of the women’s empowerment organization Deeds Not Words, led an important conversation about the importance of listening to women of color, amplifying their voices instead of speaking for them and the importance of women of faith speaking their truth and standing up for issues like maternal health.
