Improving Racial Equity in Maternal Health Outcomes

Prioritize

funding for community-based organizations that are working to improve maternal health outcomes for Black women as well as funding the statewide implementation of the AIM Safety Bundle Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities.

Require

all hospitals and birth facilities to implement evidence-based implicit bias programs for all healthcare providers involved in the perinatal care continuum. 

Allow

Texas Medicaid to cover doula services, an evidence-based strategy for improving maternal outcomes.
