Dr. Trego, a Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Scientist…

retired from the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in 2015 after 25 years of Active Duty Service. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus College of Nursing. As a recognized nurse expert on the health of military women, Trego served as the 2018-2019 Distinguished Nurse Scholar-in-Residence at the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). During her time at NAM, she contributed to the Consensus Study Report: Birth Settings in America: Outcomes, Quality, Access, and Choice. Over the course of her career, Dr. Trego has partnered with international military, nursing, and non-governmental organizations to conduct research, program evaluations, multidisciplinary education, and conferences to improve both women’s healthcare and the nursing profession in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Middle-Eastern nations.
